The Concept

So much more than your average yoga retreat ...following many years teaching internationally in studios and retreats all over the world, 'Soul Tribe Retreats' was born in 2015. Our wealth of experience means we know our stuff. Amazing locations, inspiring yoga to suit all levels, nourishing food, the right balance of activity and relaxation ... it's the details that make the difference, and with more than 50 international retreats under our belts and 500 happy students, we've been busy perfecting them! If you want hand picked venues, yoga & meditation delivered by a passionate and experienced teacher, incredible food and time to relax, explore and enjoy the local culture, you're in the right place.

Each Soul Tribe Retreat combines the very best of meditation,  vinyasa flow and restorative yoga to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. You'll also enjoy specialised workshops from back-bending to inversions, philisophy to thai yoga massage and much more with plenty of time to kick back, relax, and make lifelong friends.

The Retreat Centre

Our Devonshire retreats are held at the stunning Sandwell House, an elegant south-facing Georgian manor with stunning views over a secluded valley and Harbourne river The house provides a comfortable retreat with upgraded rooms and our very own yoga studio looking out onto the grounds (see picture on right) as well as extensive lawns and a tennis court.


The historic town of Totnes is less than 10 minutes away and beaches and the Dartmoor National Park are only 30 minutes from the house. Sandwell is a great location and a launchpad to enjoy a multitude of leisure pursuits that the South Hams has to offer, only 25 minutes from the English Riviera and 30 minutes from Dartmouth and Salcombe. We can enjoy long country walks from the manor and end up at the local 13th century Inn 30 minutes' walk away for a post yoga drink!

Each day you'll enjoy unlimited tea and coffee, a big healthy vegetarian brunch, afternoon sweet treat and hearty group dinners in the evenings. There will be plenty of time in the day to enjoy the local area and beaches.

The Teacher

Jenn Russell is an experienced 500 hour certified yoga teacher, teacher trainer and retreat leader with a true passion for her art. Her inspiring vinyasa flow classes take students on a creative journey through their practice, linking asanas with creative transitions and uplifting music, delivered with humour and a sense of playfulness. To compliment our morning dynamic practices, Jenn offers restorative, yin inspired sessions each evening, supported by the healing touch of Thai yoga massage and always set to a beautiful soundtrack. 


Following the completion of two intensive yoga trainings, Jenn has spent the past nine years teaching extensively in Bali, Greece, Morocco, UK, Croatia, Goa, Thailand, Ibiza and Mexico, leading her own sell out yoga retreats. In 2020 Jenn founded her online yoga school SoulTribe Academy and a yoga app SoulTribe TV to bring her teachings to hundreds of students during COVID. Throughout all of these offerings, Jenn encourages her students to have fun exploring their infinite capabilities … after all what your body is allowing you to do is truly amazing!

 I was so impressed with the different ways Jenn used flow & warm up (by different I mean compared to other classes I’ve attended). I’ve had multiple back injuries and I work as a physiotherapist, so I suppose I have slightly better body awareness and anatomical knowledge than your average man on the street. I really appreciated the structure of the classes, it's beneficial to anyone, including people who are recovering or have suffered injuries. Jenn's classes were so much fun and all of this just combined into a very happy relaxed feeling after the class
