Why is flexibility and mobility important?
Mobility and ease of movement is the foundation of physical health. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, pull and push with freedom will transform not only your yoga practice, but your life! Whether you're a yogi, an athlete, a self confessed 'plank of wood', or someone who just wants to move through their day pain free, whatever your flexibility goals, I've got you.
Give me just 28 days and I'll show you exactly how to tap into your body's true potential for flexibility.
But isn't flexibility 'fixed' once you're an adult?
Can you see me rolling my eyes? As a yoga teacher, this is one of the most common excuses I hear. My response ... "nope". I've watched countless students getting their splits and backbends for the first time in their 40's, 50's and 60's. My own body only began to open up in my mid 30's .... more on that later!
Let me get this out of the way now .... the human body is DESIGNED to move! To run, balance, lift and stretch without pain and limitation. 'Stiff' DOES NOT have to be your 'normal'. Everyone deserves to live in a mobile, healthy body, whether you're a yoga practitioner or not. You just need to do the work to get there.
A little back story ...
Hi, my name is Jenn and I'm the founder of SoulTribe. I'm a yoga teacher, former high school sports teacher and professional dancer, massage therapist, yoga teacher trainer and incurable movement enthusiast!
From the age of four I trained in dance, starting off in my local Saturday school and eventually progressing enough to attend performing arts college at 16. I was always way 'tighter' than the other students, despite endless hours of stretching, but it wasn't until I started my degree in dance at 18 that I started developing knee, shoulder and back issues.
I clearly remember my first class at Laban, freshly moved to London and not being able to touch my toes in forward fold. Splits? nope. Backbends? ouch. Due to years of haphazard 'stretching' and over training, I felt like a tight elastic band and had muscular imbalances in my back and shoulders to show for it!
Truthfully, I didn't really know what I was doing ...
Looking back now I'm glad for that nagging back pain as, at 28, after a long career as a performer and dance teacher, I discovered yoga and my love affair with the practice began! I'm now 10 years into my journey and I'll be honest, my progress in terms of flexibility was slow for a long while. The turning point came when I started to become REALLY interested in anatomy after training in Thai Yoga Massage. During that month in Thailand I saw HUGE gains in my flexibility. Why? I was doing less 'yoga asana' and exploring more varied training. I began incorporating yin yoga and active stretching techniques into my practice, I learned about PNF stretching and myofascial release, I got my first splits, my backbends improved and ... here's the real kicker ... I can now get out of bed every morning and fold forward with my hands flat on the ground with ZERO back pain. And THAT ... my friends ... is more valuable than any fancy yoga posture!
And now? ...
As I write this at 38 years of age, well over 10 years into my practice my body feels the healthiest it has ever been. The biggest gains in my flexibility came well into my 30s. I'm still no contortionist, and my journey is a continual work in progress but I am in love with the way my body allows me to move both on and off the mat... and I'm committed to helping you feel the same! This is something that will stand me in good stead for the rest of my life. After all ... some of the greatest yogis practiced well into their 90s ;)
Now how inspirational is that?

I feel stronger and fitter than I have in years and so much lighter in my yoga practice and as a real bonus, my back pain has completely disappeared. Throughout, the support given by Jenn and the other course members has been invaluable.
This is an absolutely fantastic course and very accessible for all levels. Jenn has put together a skilful mix of drills and flows and although they are initially challenging I can vouch for the fact that at the end of the four weeks you will achieve beyond your expectations!
Hanna, Core Academy alumni
I have looked forward to practicing every day! Jenn has encouraged me to try poses I wouldn't have thought possible. After 4 weeks my chaturanga feels strong and controlled, and an amazing byproduct is sculpted arms and shoulders and beginning to see some muscle definition in my legs.
The amount of work Jenn put into this course is a testament to how much she cares about every one of our yoga practices. Not only did I feel stronger, lighter and more confident by week four but my mindset with everything (on and off the mat) has benefitted. The community support is wonderful and the ongoing care Jenn gave us throughout, and now after we've finished is a real bonus. Thank you Jenn!
Got questions? ...
Q: Is this course live or can I practice in my own time?
All classes are pre-recorded so you can practice in your own time. You'll get a downloadable course calendar so you'll know exactly what to practice when. Once a week we have an optional live webinar on Zoom where you'll learn more about technique and posture breakdowns, and be able to share your progress and ask questions
Q: What equipment will I need?
Ideally a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, and a yoga strap. For those who want to practice the bonus video a foam roller is recommend but not essential.
If you'd like to order any equipment feel free to check out my Amazon recommendations here - Amazon Store
Q: What if I don't have the equipment
No worries! I often travel without equipment when I'm teaching abroad ... thick books are fine instead of yoga blocks and a long scarf or belt will do for a yoga strap
Q: Is this programme suitable for beginners?
This is an all levels course with plenty of options all the way through. If you have any pre-existing injuries that you're concerned about, please drop me an email to discuss - email
Q: How much time do I need to commit?
You’ll practice for 30-45 minutes a day, 6 times a week for 28 days. You can practice at any time of the day as the classes are pre-recorded. There will be an optional Live Sunday check-in via Zoom each week with technique tutorials and an opportunity for you to ask questions.
Q: Where do I access the courses and live-streams?
On our brand new online studio that once you enrol, you will gain access to. You can bookmark that page in your browser and return to it when you need. All video lessons and live-streams will happen within the online studio. The live check in calls are at 7pm UK time every Sunday on Zoom.
Q: What if I can't make the live Zoom calls?
No worries! All Zoom calls will be recorded and shared on the online platform so you can access them any time and you can always reach out with any questions on the private Facebook group
